Bank Mandiri Disburses Rp55 Trillion Funds, Purbaya Plans More

JAKARTA, 27 Oct 2025 – Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa said Bank Mandiri has fully disbursed the government’s Rp55 trillion placed at the bank. The disbursement was directed to real‑sector financing, meaning production and trade activities. The comment was made on Monday.
The government’s placement of funds in state‑owned banks totals Rp200 trillion, with Bank Mandiri, BRI and BNI each receiving Rp55 trillion, BTN Rp25 trillion, and BSI Rp10 trillion. The placement follows Finance Minister Decree No 276/2025 to stimulate credit growth. Bank Indonesia reported credit growth of 7.7 % year‑on‑year in September 2025, while retail sales have begun to rise.
Purbaya added that if Mandiri’s funds are exhausted, the government will inject additional placements, aiming to boost credit and retail sales. Yet Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiyo noted credit demand remains weak due to a “wait and see” stance by businesses and relatively high loan rates. Undisbursed loans in September 2025 amounted to Rp2 374.8 trillion, representing 22.5 % of the available credit ceiling.
