Riau Tax Office Realizes Rp10.24 Trillion, 57.7% of 2025 Target

The Regional Office of the Directorate General of Taxes (Kanwil DJP) in Riau reported tax receipts of Rp10.24 trillion through the end of September 2025. This amount represents only 57.7 % of the Rp17.75 trillion target for 2025. The figures were released on 24 October 2025.

The 2025 target is lower than the previous year because of the implementation of Article 464 of Minister of Finance Regulation No 81/2024 (PMK 81/2024), which shifted tax administration to a centralized system using the Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP) based on residence. Since the 2025 tax year, Value‑Added Tax (VAT) fell 13.1 % and Income Tax (PPh) fell 18.94 % due to changes in PPh 21 collection in government administration and higher tax refunds. Conversely, revenue from tax collection interest and deposits surged over 22,000 %.

By September 2025, 383,161 Annual Tax Returns (SPT) had been filed, covering 90.34 % of the 408,329‑return target, indicating strong taxpayer compliance. The Riau tax office affirmed its commitment to enhance collaboration with regional authorities and other agencies to optimize tax collection amid economic fluctuations. These actions aim to narrow the gap between actual receipts and the 2025 target.
