Purbaya Says Coretax Slowed Tax Receipts Early 2025

JAKARTA, October 13, 2025 – Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa said the coretax administration system has slowed tax receipts this year. He made the comment at a press conference in Jakarta.

Purbaya noted that coretax glitches delayed tax payments, especially in the first months of the year. January 2025 tax revenue reached only Rp88.9 trillion, a 41.9% drop from January 2024. To prevent penalties, the Directorate General of Taxes issued Director‑General Decree KEP‑67/PJ/2025, extending payment and filing deadlines.

He added that improving coretax will speed up revenue inflow and boost total receipts by year‑end. The deadline extensions aim to give taxpayers more time without incurring administrative sanctions.
