Prabowo: Tax Revenue Should Finance Public Services and KRL

President Prabowo Subianto said on Thursday, 4 November 2025, in Jakarta that tax revenue must be allocated to public services. He emphasized that tax money should serve the interests of the people.

Prabowo highlighted the need for clean and efficient state finance management and the fight against corruption. He announced that the government will cover most operational costs of mass transit, particularly electric commuter trains (KRL).

The administration approved the addition of 30 new KRL sets in the Greater Jakarta area with a budget of IDR 5 trillion. He also instructed the infrastructure ministry to develop railway projects in Sumatra, Kalimantan and Sulawesi.
