On 13âŻOctâŻ2025, the Luwu Regency Revenue Office carried out spot checks on mining and restaurant businesses in Luwu, South Sulawesi. The audit covered 17 licensed mining sites (IUP) and 25 foodâbeverage establishments. Teams were deployed to assess tax compliance.
Head of the office, Sofyan Thamrin, said the spot checks aim to raise taxpayer compliance and strengthen the tax database. About 85 officers were sent to the field; the first focus was on mineral nonâmetal and rock tax (MBLB) at mines, the second on goods and services tax (PBJT) for foodâbeverage operators. The collected data will inform future regional tax policy.
The findings will serve as a basis for refining tax collection policies and are expected to boost regional original revenue (PAD). The office also plans to expand digital systems to record revenues accurately, supporting sustainable development in Luwu.
