Fintech Tax Revenue Reaches Rp4.1 Trillion by September 2025

The Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) of the Ministry of Finance reported that tax revenue from the fintech industry reached Rp4.1 trillion through September 2025. The amount includes Income Tax articles 23 and 26 and domestic Value‑Added Tax.

Breakdown shows Rp1.14 trillion from Article 23 tax on loan interest, Rp724.4 billion from Article 26 on foreign borrowers, and Rp2.24 trillion from domestic VAT. Overall digital‑economy tax receipts, covering fintech, e‑commerce and crypto, totalled Rp42.53 trillion by 30 September 2025. The Financial Services Authority (OJK) also reported a 21.62 % year‑on‑year increase in outstanding peer‑to‑peer lending in August 2025.

These figures highlight the digital sector’s emerging role as a major source of national tax revenue. DGT affirmed its commitment to incorporate all digital‑economy activities into a fair and efficient tax system. The trend may affect tax obligations and compliance for fintech operators and other digital businesses.
