DPR Says Government Holds IDR 4 Trillion Emergency Fund for

The House Budget Committee (Banggar) chaired by Said Abdullah said the government holds an on‑call fund of IDR 4 trillion in the 2025 state budget. The fund can be used for disaster response in Aceh, North Sumatra and West Sumatra. The remarks were made on 6 December 2025.

The emergency cash may be allocated to immediate response, rehabilitation and reconstruction measures. Rehabilitation covers public facilities such as hospitals, schools, government offices, places of worship and basic infrastructure. Reconstruction of education, health facilities, roads, bridges, markets and other damaged assets can continue with the 2026 budget.

Having the fund available gives the government fiscal capacity to act quickly and restore public services. President Prabowo Subianto emphasized speeding up logistics aid and restoring access to isolated areas. This is expected to help communities return to normal conditions faster.
