The Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) reported that cooperation to optimise tax collection with local governments yielded an additional IDR202.82 billion in revenue up to Q2 2025. Of this amount, IDR175.98 billion went to regional authorities and IDR26.84 billion to the central government. The figure reflects joint supervision under a cooperation agreement (PKS).

PKS is a cooperation agreement among DJP, the Directorate General of Fiscal Balance (DJPK) and local governments for data exchange and joint supervision. The finance minister has issued 26 data‑opening letters to 280 local governments, covering 13,985 taxpayers subject to joint monitoring. To date, 527 local governments have signed PKS, up from seven pilot regions in 2019.

Director General Bimo Wijayanto said the cross‑authority collaboration boosts taxpayer compliance and strengthens inter‑agency fiscal coordination. The experience suggests that DJP‑local government cooperation can form the basis for a more effective, transparent and sustainable tax administration. It is expected to expand the tax revenue base for regions in the future.
