DJP Investigates Alleged Tax Extortion by KPP Tigaraksa Staff in

The Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) has opened an investigation into alleged extortion by a staff member of the Tax Service Office (KPP) Pratama Tigaraksa in Tangerang, Banten. The case came to light after a complaint was filed on 15 October 2025 through the official “Lapor Pak Purbaya” channel.
Extortion, defined as forcing a taxpayer to pay money under threat, was alleged as “premanisme” by an Account Representative (AR) at KPP Tigaraksa. DJP Director General Bimo Wijayanto said an internal probe is underway but further details are pending from the complainant. Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa ordered swift action and pledged to prevent similar conduct within the tax authority.
A confirmed finding could lead to administrative sanctions for the employee and reinforce measures against abuse of authority in tax offices. Authorities stress that public‑official integrity is essential to maintain taxpayer confidence.
