DJP Aims to Collect Rp20 Trillion Tax Arrears by End of 2025

The Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) announced a target to collect Rp20 trillion of tax arrears by the end of 2025. The identified arrears total Rp60 trillion across 201 taxpayers who have been declared inkrah. The statement was made at the APBN Kita press conference on 14 October 2025.

To date DJP has recovered Rp7.21 trillion, leaving Rp12.79 trillion still needed to meet the goal. Among the 201 taxpayers, 91 have paid or are installmenting; 5 face liquidity problems, 27 are bankrupt, and 4 are under law‑enforcement supervision. Tax officers have also conducted asset tracing on five taxpayers, barred nine beneficial owners from overseas travel, and seized one taxpayer.

These actions reflect DJP’s commitment to reduce the nation’s tax backlog. Achieving the Rp20 trillion target could boost tax revenue substantially before 2025 ends. The remaining Rp12.79 trillion arrears remain a significant challenge for the authority.
