Sukabumi Prosecutor's Office Acts on Report of 250 Villages

The Sukabumi District Prosecutor's Office announced it will follow up on a report concerning 250 villages in Sukabumi Regency that have not remitted Property Tax (PBB) to the district treasury. The report was received on Tuesday, 28 October 2025. Special Criminal Division Head Agus Yuliana said most village payments are below 50% of the required amount.
The Head of the Regional Revenue Agency, Herdy Somantri, indicated that tax payments handed to village officials were not transferred to the treasury but allegedly used for personal purposes. Prosecutors will examine village financial reports and PBB deposit data at Bank BJB, cross‑checking them with the agency’s records. This verification aims to uncover any misuse of the funds.
If misuse is confirmed, the Prosecutor's Office will pursue charges under anti‑corruption statutes. Local authorities stress that PBB receipts are essential for funding development projects. The enforcement action is intended to reinforce public confidence in regional tax management.
